Conference on Civil Status - Lyon
The International Commission on Civil Status (ICCS) and the Centre de Droit de la Famille – Equipe Louis Josserand (Lyon III University), with the support of the estate genealogy firm Coutot-Roehrig and the Institut National des Formations Notariales (INFN), held a conference entitled “Personal Status, Civil Status, Current Issues” on November 7, 2025, in Lyon.
Unanimous Granting of Observer Status to the Central African Republic
During its Extraordinary Bureau Meeting on 4 November 2025, the Bureau unanimously decided to grant the Central African Republic observer status within the ICCS, marking an important step in its growing international recognition.

Conference on civil status - Rio de Janeiro
Nicolas Nord, ICCS Secretary General, took part in a conference on the consequences of the civil status system for the reliability of records and the international circulation of people’s individual and family status. This conference was organised by the ICCS, the University of Lyon III and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
Conference on 3 April 2025 in Corte
Nicolas Nord, ICCS Secretary General, took part in the conference on 3 April organised in Corte by the University of Corsica. The conference focused on international judicial cooperation.
Signature of Convention No. 35
Convention No. 35 was adopted by the ICSC General Assembly on September 13th. The text was immediately signed by Switzerland.
Executive Training on Civil Aspects of International Child Protection (ICPT)
Nicolas Nord, ICCS Secretary General, gave a lecture “The ICCS Activities and Good Practices in the field of International Child Protection” in the framework of the Executive Training on Civil Aspects of International Child Protection (ICPT). Thanks to the Children’s Rights Academy of the University of Geneva and the audience for this opportunity and the warm atmosphere.
